I think that the difference of ASCII and JIS-ROMAJI is not so large,
and few problem except the terminal state would be occur. This is also
depend the capability of the terminals.
Therefore, how about this ?
o News poster can use one of them/both ESC sequence as he prefer.
o News readers should determine
1) ESC-(-J --> ESC-(-B (or other code for the terminal)
2) ESC-(-B --> ESC-(-J ( '' )
3) No special translation
according to the capability of the terminal. This selection can be done
by shell-environment and/or termcap entry.
Of cause, this translation requires another hack to rn/readnews.
Including this problem, we had better have a standard of termcap entry
for the KANJI handling capability. Does anyone knows any standards ?
