I am looking for a program that runs on 4.2 UNIX that allows
input of japanese. Specifically when Romaji spelling of hiragana
and katakana is input the hiragana and katakana show up on screen.
Then if desired, it is possible to ask that hiragana letters be
compressed as kanji.

I saw jvi at Keio U. do this. I saw a number of typewriters at
Akihabara do this.

We have apollos, suns, and HP workstations for graphics. I have a set
of bit maps for the JIS character set. Therefore I am looking for
somthing at perhaps is table driven for the coding to japanese letters
and that runs on these or other 4.2 machines.

We would be willing to sign any non-disclosure agreements required.
We might even be able to pay a modest fee.

I can possibly trade software to convert JIS style 24X24 bit maps to
appollo, vfont, and postscript forms!
(I cannot send bitmaps because we are under another non-disclosure
agreement that we are honoring very carefully)

Thanks Dan Berry (BeRi DaNiERu)
